Rolo Pretzels

It's extremely easy, and they are "just right" bites.

Ingredients:

  • 100 waffle-style pretzels
  • 50 Rolos

Directions:

Decide how many you'd like to make. (I usually make about 50)

Put parchment paper on the cookie sheet. Place pretzels on the cookie sheet.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F while opening Rolos. Place 1 Rolo on each pretzel, then cover with another pretzel. Put in the oven for 4-5 minutes. The Rolos will look very shiny when they begin to melt. They will also begin to soften to the touch. Take them out of the oven while they are still holding their shape, but slightly soft.

Press the top pretzel down on the Rolo making a sandwich. Cool in the refrigerator. Store in a covered bowl or zippered bag.

Servings: 50
Time:15-20 Minutes Preparation Time
4-5 Minutes Cooking Time

I have made these several times and just love them. I first heard about these a couple of years ago.

I didn't make them this year for Christmas. I decided I had enough sweets to make me fat!

Skip adding a pretzel on top and just after removing these little goodies from the oven, top with a pecan half. Adds protein thereby making them more nutritious. Ha Ha.

I also make these with the pecan on top. We call them poor man turtles, like the Fannie May (a famous candy co.) ones.
But I will give these a whirl.

After making dozens of homemade cookies, I made several batches of these. They taste great and were so easy and very popular. I was wondering why I bothered with the more difficult goodies.
