Drying a Mattress Cover?

I took off my mattress cover this morning to wash it. I threw it in the regular laundry like most people. I didn't keep the washing directions. It has a protective plastic lining. My question being, can I put it in the dryer? I don't have heat control so it is always hot air, is it safe or will it melt?

Using the dryer may not melt the plastic but will shorten its life. After a few dryings the plastic may start cracking. Its best to hang the matress cover somewhere or drape it over a railing to dry naturally.

Hang it over the shower curtain rod if you cant hang it outside. Just make sure the top of the rod is not dusty.

You might be able to dry it on the cold air cycle of the dryer.
