I saw some photos here of people using them to contain small items in a drawer, such as paper clips, thumb tacks and rubber bands.
You can use them to hold craft materials like beads or jewelry clasps or as a paint container for dipping your artist brush into.
Whatever you do, do not use them for any food or beverage items. Not even as a scoop.
Never the trash, please. They won't biodegrade till your kids have grandkids!

They can be used in the office, craft room, bathroom, shop, or even the car. Ever can't find any quarters in your console or want to keep them in the cup holder? This you can lift out and use without having to scoop them out when you are in a hurry or in a dark car.
Another is spot spackling nail holes then later using a bit of paint to spot paint. The ideas are almost endless.
