Diamond Post Medal for All Time! 5,887 Posts I'm told this recipe is almost 100 years old. Very moist and yummy!
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1 cup brown or white sugar (or 1/2 and 1/2)
- 2 cups unsifted flour
- 1 cup sour milk
- 1 cup raisins
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. cloves
- 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
- 1 tsp. baking powder
Directions:
Mix shortening and sugar. Add dry ingredients alternately with sour milk. Add rainins and beaten egg. Bake at 400 degrees F about 13 minutes. Makes 18 muffins.
