Molasses Cornbread

I love this on a cold winter night with a big pot of soup or stew.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup white flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 4 tsp. baking powder
  • Advertisement

  • 1 cup cornmeal
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil

Directions:

Sift flour, salt, and baking powder. Add cornmeal, and mix. Combine egg, molasses, and milk. Stir into dry ingredients. Add oil; mix. Pour into greased 9x13 inch pan. Bake at 400 degrees F for 25 minutes.
