Preventing Loose Stitches When Knitting?

When the stitches are left on the knitting needle for some days, the marks of the needle comes over the stitches. Then that row of stitches becomes loose when seen after 2 or 3 rows. How can I avoid it?

Use a different color yarn and thread a large eyed needle. Then run the needle through all the stitches removing them from the knitting needle and knot the ends together. You just made yourself a stitch holder to hold your knitted work. Then when you're ready to knit again slide all the stitches back on the knitting needle.

That should solve your problem.
