When giving gifts to babysitters, mailmen, people, please only give gifts you know the person will like. I got 5 gifts for Christmas and was only able to use 1. The rest I regifted or are still in my regifting shelf. Food is always well appreciated, especially to a single person. Even a gift certificate to a grocery store.

I like to get a variety of $5 gift certificates to keep on hand all the time. I like Wendy's, McDonald's, Dairy Queen, Sonic, and Burger King. There is something for everyone at these places, even people on special diets. Then you can give one or a variety, depending on the occasion and how much you want to give. Children like these too because they 'get to pay for their own food'.
our mailman has been on our route for 24 years but a mailman for 34 years . He is a wonderful friend and we would like to give him something to remember us by. He became one of the few African-American men that began to work with the postal office in Chicago, Illinois.
I myself give homemade banana bread, applesauce breads, fudge, trash(chex mix) and cookies to the postman, fedex and ups guys and others of sorts. They are so busy during the holidays. At least this way you know they received something homemade and good for them too. you can buy tins at the dollar stores to place then in for a buck each. This is also good for friends at work, specially the one whom you know will be cooking all day.
I buy biscuits (cookies for you!) at a job creation project of a welfare organisation in Johannesburg and hand out packets of mixed biscuits to these people, also the bus drivers.
What do I give for a full time caregiver?
