I'm thinking about having a "Breakfast at Tiffany's" themed Sweet 16. Any ideas?

I'd start with the movie. I haven't watched that one in years so my memory is a little fizzy. You could take Tiffany's signature colors that they use to gift wrap ("tiffany blue" and white). Check out their web site to get a better idea of the colors they use.
Have the guest of honor doing her best Audrey Hepburn imitation. Scour the thrift shops for black cocktail dresses, circa 1960 or so, black opera length gloves and big clunky jewelry. Don't forget to get her hair done up in a high bun. Like so: www.imdb.com/
I did see one party idea on TV where they did a jewelry swap at a dinner party. Every guest brought pieces of jewelry that they were able to part with and where able to pick up others that the other guests brought. You could do that.
But I would take you ideas from the movie in terms of the food and drinks.
Rhinestones for everyone; black dresses from thrift shops.
Eyeliner and high heels.
I love the idea of watching the movie to begin the party!
Have some plastic champagne glasses to serve Martinelli's sparkling cider and little hor d'oeuvre's on serving trays!
And don't forget some 1960/1961 style hats and dark sunglasses :-)
And if you could find a poster or 8x10's from the movie to display that would be really cool because Audrey Hepburn shines in showing Holly Golightly's attitude even in a photo!
Oh, and maybe you might be able to find Truman Capote's book online or on eBay to place on the coffee table!
What a great theme! Have fun and hope you share the outcome with all of us!
first start with the movie
then have some audorves and sparkling cider
after do a guess who said that? from the movie game (someone says a line from the movie and everyone has to guess who it was that said it)
when you leave give every one a favor like a bracelet or jewelery from the '60s in a Tiffany box (light blue and white)
good luck! =]
For Breakfast at Tiffany's style, stick to the late 1950's/early 1960's. Lots of classic lines, rhinestones, and a little more formal than today. Serve little hors d'oeuvres and small chocolates for dessert.
