I used a wooden drapery rod to make a holder for fabric or a quilt or bedspread to use as a headboard. It is cheap, fast, and can be changed quickly. Just be sure to use lightweight fabrics, or put a support in the center of the pole for heavy items. You can make it as high or as low as you like. This is now my favorite headboard.

This is a cute idea. On many of the do it yourself shows I have seen a lot of ideas for headboards but never this one. What a great idea for using those beautiful blankets, spreads, or pretty material instead of sticking them in a closet somewhere. You can even use different ones for different seasons.
I LOVE it!
I live this idea! Thank you very much.
Wow! I could easily change my daughter's decor from Disney Princess to Hannah Montana! lol Great idea, thanks for sharing!
I did this years ago but I used a dowel and put curtain rod holders on thr ends. Beesulli
You can also use PVC pipe in 1 1/2 inch or even 2 inch with the elbows to go back to the wall. Use some drapery pole supports to support the PVC.
