Spray Can Cap Clogging Toilet?

My wife flushed a foot spray cap down the toilet. I've gone through two closet augers and used a new plunger with less then good results. Please help.

Do not push it further down. Shut off water and try a wet vac hose down the toilet drain, this just might work.

Good news/ bad news if you can't get it out from above just going to have to unbolt toilet and push it back out from below. Just as well stop at the hardware store and get you a new wax ring because when you pull the bowl up is going to destroy the present one. Good news is not a difficult job or expensive / bad news it's not a very pleasant one.

Just cut off the water, empty the tank take out the 2 bolts that connect the tank to the bowl and set the tank aside. Unbolt the bowl from the floor and use a coathanger or something similair to push the cap up out of the toilet trap till you can reach it and remove it. Remove the old wax ring that is the hole in the floor and replace it with a new one. Sit the bowl back in place and carefully tighten the bolts holdingit to the floor. Bolt should be snug but don't overtighten or can crack your toilet. Make sure the gasket is in place and in good condition and place the tank back on and again carefully tighten the bolts. turn the water on, check for leaks and you are back in business.

I agree with slee15 and don't forget to get the new toilet wax ring before re-seating the toilet or you'll have a real mess when you turn the water back on and flush :-) This boo boo having happened is a good example of proof of why we should always keep the toilet seat lid closed when toilet not in use. ;-)
