How can I quiet noisy windshield wipers without replacing them?

Squeaking or otherwise noisy blades means that they need to be replaced. WD40 will smear on the windshield and impair vision.
I live in a dessert region and often get that squeak during 'dusty months'. What I do is wipe off the blades with a really wet rag and the squeak goes away. When it doesn't help I know for certain it's time to replace them.
Ditto on not using anything 'oily/oily based' like WD40 to clean or coat the blades!
Spray them with WD40, good luck.
Smear some wd-40, just a little , just above your wipers, across the windshield. Not too much, & it won't impair your vision/visibility.
