Buttered Toast Topped Cherry Cobbler?

My mother used to make a cherry cobbler that was so good. Instead of a batter, it used buttered toast. I've looked on-line, but gave up after a few hours of sorting through all the cherry cobbler recipes. Can anyone help me with the recipe?
