Put mascara on the night before, it makes you have smoky looking eyes with added shade.
Only use foundation and blush for a natural look.
Dot your lipstick then press, don't swipe it.
When applying shadow, use the pinky finger, it helps avoid mess-ups, adds evenly, also avoids bruising/stretching of the eye.
NEVER use lipstick/liquid-base rouge as blush, it will only make things worse.
When applying eye shadow, put white or light tan or the blush you used for your cheeks under the brow, it highlights your eyes and gives you a glowy look.
NEVER use lip liner. I don't like how it looks.

Having been trained in cosmetics and makeovers, I have to object to a couple of these tips.
First, I would never put mascara on the night before. Inevitably you'll rub your eyes at some point during the night and end up with raccoon eyes in the morning. (Also, please, for the sake of your eyes, replace your mascara every three months--it's a breeding ground for bacteria. This is a recommendation from the FDA, not just the cosmetics industry.)
If you can at all avoid it, don't apply makeup with your fingers. Even freshly washed hands contain oils and dirt that can bother skin. An eyeshadow brush works well, with less "bruising/stretching" than the little sponge applicator that comes with eyeshadow. Also, instead of applying from the inside of the eye out, apply from the outside in--it's easier to blend shades and reduces some of the tugging.
Don't use anything on your eyes that wasn't meant for eyes. The skin around the eye is very delicate and thin; even stuff that is perfectly safe to use on the rest of your face can make your eye burn and water.
Lip liner does actually have a purpose. It can help prevent lipstick from feathering and make it last longer. It should closely match the lipstick you're wearing. For instance, wear a pink (not a red) liner with pink lipstick. Use light feathery strokes to apply the liner to the edge of the lips (not the skin around the lips). If done well, you shouldn't have a noticible outline on your lips.
My favorite tip is to use cosmetic sponges, the little wedge-shaped foam things, to apply your foundation and blend your blush. They're inexpensive and gentle. You'll actually use less foundation because the sponge holds it better than cottonballs or your fingers.

i agree with camilla. i am not trained in cosmetics application but i do have some common sense. never apply mascara or any makeup before needing at all-especially before bed.
i dont like lip liner when it doesnt match but yes it does help from alllowing the lipstick from bleeding.
Lipliner is useful to keep lipstick from "feathering". However, lipliner should be the color of your natural lips, NOT the color of your lipstick.
Well, I was going to say, thanks for the tips, however......I wouldn't use mascara at night as it can break you eyeslahses and it is unhealthy, but someone else beat me to it.
And as a Personal thing, remember what works for you doesn't always work for someone else, so on both accounts, think about something before you think it is gospel, and take everything with a grain of salt.
I must agree with the above. I encourage my clients to never wear mascara to bed. During the course of your sleep, the continuous friction will pull your eyelashes out, not to mention stain your pillow case.
The absolute best eyeliner is eyeshadow applied with a small paintbrush and a dab of water. Dip the paintbrush in water and blot on a tissue, then dab across the shadow. It can be as dark or as light as you choose and it lasts ALL DAY. And it is easy to match your lid color. I will also use this technique to shape and define my eyebrows. Also, I will occasionally use a pinkish brown to line below my lower lip and it stays about 4-6 hours. Just remember that you don't have to go as dark as you think you do. It can look striking or natural, depending on the technique and colors you prefer.

that isnt good for your eyes, you're better off buying eyeshadow to do it in the morning.

Use a fat makeup brush to apply pressed powder or loose powder. I feel like it gives me better coverage than the little pad that comes with it.
i have many spots for im a teen
when i apply foundation it looks horrible and my skin becomes very dry!!
i use lots of oils and creams to make it less dry but nothing works
is there anything anyone can reccomend?
