Since schools do not allow homemade goodies for birthdays and holidays anymore, Oriental Trading Company has various items in their catalog that would be fun to hand out instead of candy or sweets. Items like pencils, bookmarks, note pads, etc., are available for cheap! Also, craft kits and activity ideas for teachers and room mothers.

Thank you for reminding me about Oriental Trading. Used it when my kids and grand kids were young forgot about it as they grew but now will use it again for the GREATS ( which seem to be arriving fast and furious)!
Best part is, they don't contribute to the obesity that all those sugary goodies did. There was love in them, but the love is better expressed this way! The local party store is a good source, but I have a personal rule of always shopping the thrift shop first, just about for everything (haven't found used gasoline yet).
