Emergency Waterproof Shoes

If you don't have waterproof shoes and you want to go out this winter and have dry feet, simply slip on a plastic bag over socks before putting on your shoes or boots. One gallon freezer bags are good for this.

Another easy trick is to slip cheap shower caps on your feet first. Buy them from the 'dollar stores'. Your feet won't feel cramped inside your shoes.

Bread bags will work as well too.

When I was a newspaper carrier in the Northeast ( a whole lotta years ago) I'd put a couple of newspaper bags on over my socks and under the sneakers when either a rain or snowstorm rolled in while I was working--they're not just for pooper scooping:)
