What would I do to start as a professional organizer? I know what it is and the NAPO membership, but how do I price a job? How do I estimate how long it will take? I'm thinking residential clutter, maybe some office work later. It's a wonderful feeling to make nice before and afters, I just itch to get at it passionately.

Hi Kim, I used to be a member of the POC - Professional Organizers in Canada. I never ended up pursuing NAPO membership, but they might offer workshops or seminars to help you with this.
I did attend a few webinars through here:
professionalorganizers.com/
If you check out the Continuing Education page, there is one on Setting Rates. I found that one quite helpful. If you don't want to go that route, I can recommend a few tips:
- Find out what other organizers in your area are charging.
- Join a local chapter of an organizing group
- Find online forums/groups for organizing (check yahoo, facebook or even NAPO)
Good Luck with your new venture! Tina (in Toronto)
I would ask another person that does it - or contact the organization you mentioned. NAPO - I am assuming should be able to help you with your qustions and point you in the right direction.
