Easy and delicious.
Just dump everything into a bowl and beat it a little. I usually use a sheet cake pan and bake at 350 degrees F. for 35 minutes.
I use a 2 cup measure and put in the cup of water. If you add the mayonnaise to the water it is much easier to get out of the cup.
This is a really soft tender cake. Sometimes I add an egg - not sure why. LOL!
I always ice it with vanilla butter cream icing just because that is my preference. Enjoy!

I have always heard of mayonnaise cake but never tried-I think I will now though. I always have these ingredients on hand-can't wait to try!
I love chocolate mayo cake! My mom used to make it when I was a kid & I made it for my kids. Somewhere I have a quicker recipe that uses a box cake mix & mayo.
I can't wait to try this. My mom made it when I was a kid. I remember my brothers going "ewww" when they saw the mayonnaise. But there was never a wasted crumb. LOL
A long lost memory, thanks for sharing.

I made this cake yesterday but think I over baked it a couple minutes. It was still very good and easy to make so I will be making it again. It is a good way to use up mayo since I usually have a jar open but seldom actually use it. lol. I wonder why I even have it. ;-

In a large bowl combine sugar and mayonnaise. Mix well and add dry ingredients. Add water a little at a time. Pour into a 9x13 inch pan and bake at 350 degrees F for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. A moist cake and great to make when you're out of eggs. Frost with your favorite frosting. Cake does not get very high.
