The only people that can answer this question is the folks at you local Social Sercurty office. They have the answers. Call or visit them.
Yes, your child can receive funds from Social Security. Just fill out the forms at your local SS office and take it from there. My daughter gets funds even though she does not live with me and it helps her father out at the beginning of each month.

You can go to the Welfare Dept. & get Food Stamps or (SNAP) benefits as well; depending on how much your check is monthly & possibly a check for your child. No harm in trying. I'm on SSI & get Food Stamps-(SNAP) but my kids are grown & out on their own. Good Luck & God Bless You.
Yes, your children can receive benefits while they are minors. Go to your local social security office and take the child's birth certificate with you (do NOT mail it no matter what they tell you!). Ask if they will go back and pay for the previous 6 months. That's what happened with my kids.
Google Social Security and call to the nearest office to get an appointment. Wait on the phone for however long it takes, but get an appointment so you don't have to wait all day in the office waiting room. Be sure to bring original birth certificate(s) and social security card(s) with you.

How can I find out if my ex-wife cashed a Social Security check that was intended for my son?

If your son is a minor, and the SSI check was intended for child support, your wife is the one that should cash it and use it for your son's needs, and that can include housing, utilities, clothing, food, etc. If your son is an adult, ask him. Do you have thoughts in your mind that he didn't see the money? Like I say if he is a minor, he doesn't have the right to spend it on what he wants, because his mother is furnishing a place for him to live, etc.
