Heat milk and shortening until warm. Dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup warm water; add milk mixture to sugar and salt. Add eggs and yeast. Add 4 cups flour; mix well. Add remaining flour. Turn out on floured surface and knead until smooth and elastic. Let rise until double, punch down and let rise again. Make into rolls of desired shape; let rise. Bake at 350 degrees F until browned, approximately 20 minutes.
