You could try buying the same brands of mascara and eye makeup remover, (designed for that particular mascara). Ponds Cold Cream is what removes theatrical makeup. Apply that to lashes and rub off with facial tissue.
Baby oil or petroleum jelly could also be applied to mascara coated lashes and then rubbed off with facial tissue. If there is any eye irritation, follow up with cleansing eye drops.
What you don't want to do is to rub around your delicate eye area with a soapy wash cloth, definitely a less effective means of mascara removal.
