Repairing a Tub Drain Stopper?

While replacing my drain stopper for my tub the weight fell off and is stuck. The tub unit is one piece. Any ideas on how to get it out?

Usually that little weight is just cheap iron. Most craft stores sell baggies with assorted small permanent magnets. Glue one of those to the end of a wooden spoon and you got a handy retriever for all kinds of metal objects. It should lift out that little weight easily.

You can also get magnetized tools: such as screw drivers etc; this should get it out easily!

I replaced my tub drain stopper and it worked once. Now the tub drain won't stay closed completely and the tub is now clogging? Any suggestions?
