
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup chunk style peanut butter
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 1/4 cup all purpose flour, sifted
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda, sifted
- 2 Tbsp. milk
- 1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
Directions
Mix together 1st five ingredients. Add sifted dry ingredients alternately with milk; roll out to a rectangle (1/4 of an inch thickness.) Melt chocolate chips in a double boiler. Let cool but not set up. Spread over cookie dough. Roll as for jelly roll. Chill 1/2 hour. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Then slice and bake at 375 degrees F for 8-10 minutes.

I have this same recipe, and I make it often. Its my favorite cookie, as it is with many of my family members. Kind of a pain to make, but so worth it!
