When taking pictures of stuff to sell online, make sure you have a neutral background and good lighting. Otherwise the object won't be seen well and that can affect sales! I read a book that recommended you use two camera lights at 45 degree angles to the object on opposite sides to get the best lighting. Experiment until you get what works for you.

Very true....a good clear picture is very important and can make the difference between getting a good price or not even selling at all! Also please spend the time to write a good description. Describe as tho you haven't included a picture. Take measurements, describe the condition, including any flaws, the age if known, etc. Put yourself in the buyer's position and describe anything you yourself would want to know if you were contimplating placing a bid. It just wastes everyone's time if you leave info out. The buyers don't want to have to email to ask important questions that should have been written in the description in the first place!
