How can I get diesel smell from my dryer? My husband washed his soaked jeans then put them in the dryer.

I would try throwing in a towel soaked in vinegar. Vinegar is a great odour remover but It could take a few tries though diesel is pretty strong.
I'd be tempted to dissolve a small box of Baking Soda in cold water, then wash/ rinse TWICE, adding detergent to the second and final washing, rinsing with the vinegar.
Wipe down the dryer with this solution:
hot water 4 cups
baking soda 2 tsp.
vinegar 1 cup
1 tsp. dish soap
lemon essential oil 10 drops
In a med/lg. bucket place the baking soda and vinegar and let it fizz. Add the dish soap and hot water. Stir thoroughly and use to wipe down the dryer.
Next: Run the dryer with a a wet towel that has been liberally sprinkled with the lemon essential oil.
Get it wet in the sink. Ring out. Sprinkle with the oil and place in dryer for 30 minutes.
You may want to run a solution through the washer too:
1 cup baking soda
1 cup vinegar
1 cup laundry detergent
Extra cup vinegar in rinse cycle
I put 6 Bounce dryer sheets in the dryer and ran it with no clothes in, a full cycle. I also ran the washer with detergent only, no clothes again,a full cycle, and both was much better!
