Glaze:
Beat eggs. Add ground beef, salt, pepper, crumbs, and minced onion. Mix thoroughly. Stir in liquid as needed to obtain the right consistency to shape into loaves. Place in greased baking pan. Pour water around loaves. Cover and bake at 375 degrees F for 1 hour. Remove from oven. Glaze with brown sugar, ketchup, and mustard blended together. Bake, uncovered, until glaze bubbles, about 15-20 minutes.

I don't understand the "Pour water around loaves." What water? Is this to turn the pan into something like you would use for custard, where you set the ramekins into a large pan and pour water in til it's half way up the ramekin?
Robin, this is the recipe I have used for over 20 years. Got it from the Coffee Cup Cookbook (formerly in Olds, IA) My husband says it is the best meatloaf in the world. Sometimes I mix in a little shredded cheddar cheese. It is moist, yet doesn't fall apart. Seems it may be an old Mennonite recipe?
