My 2 miniature rabbits have every once in awhile peed on my Persian Rugs. I have tried vinegar, but it is not strong enough. The Carpet is pure sheep's wool. Can someone give me some tips? I do not want a professional to do it, I want to do it myself. I know someone will take pity on me and tell me! What about this "Urine Gone", does it work? I would prefer something I can prepare at home. Thanks.

Nature's Miracle works on urine as well as OUT, that is available at Walmart for less money. It smells like baby powder initially, but fades to no scent at all and really takes the smell out of fabric ( I had a male spraying cat.. eww... but it even worked on that) good luck!
I don't know how strong rabbit urine smells, but UrineGone works well on cat and dog urine.
A home remedy that also works is this.
3/4 cup hydrogen peroxide
1 tsp dish detergent (Dawn etc)
Mix together.
Sprinkle baking soda on urine stain.
Sprinkle peroxide mixture over stain and rub in.
Worked on my rug, but you might want to test on inconspicuous area of your rug first. My rug is not wool.
Thank you very much for your answers. I will try them both and hopefully the smell will go away.
I will let you know!
Best,
Cecilia
Try something called Universal Stone (online). I have a friend who used this on dog urine that stained the carpet in one particular room. She swears it works and saved her fro replacing the carpet. It's all natural, and when it dried, she just vacuumed any remaining residue.
