No more moldy cheese in the refrigerator: moisten a paper towel with a bit of cider vinegar and wrap it around your wedge of cheese; then place the wrapped cheese in a plastic bag and seal. The acid in the vinegar will keep mold away. If the paper towel dries out, moisten it with a bit of water-vinegar solution.

To keep cheese from molding, put a sugar cube in the cheese container. No more moldy cheese!

I used to manage a Cheese store. Our big blocks of cheese that we cut smaller portions from were always molding in our walk in cooler. I found that we were re-contaminatiog the cheese. Our procedure was to unwrap the big blocks and use a cheese planer to cut off the mold , then rewrap the block in our plastic shrink wrap. But where we re cut was spreading the mold spores. I implemented washing down the outer sides of the cheese with a cloth moistened with cider vinegar.
I found out accidentally years ago if you keep your fingers their fingers off of the cheese that does not mold also
Not to mention some pre shredded cheeses use sawdust to keep it from sticking together. Yuk! Thanks for the vinegar tip
Fantastic, that is a new usage for me, NO more mold on my cheese
Great tip!
