Daffodils produce a toxin that kills other cut flowers, so keep them separate when making flower arrangements.

I did not know this! Thank you for sharing this information as I'm sure it will help a lot of people in the future.
I find this very interesting and would like to know more information on this subject. I was a florist for many years and we used "daffs" in mixed spring flower arrangements every year. I had never heard of them causing any of the other flowers to die. Most spring arrangements last 7-14 days if the flowers are fresh and water changed every other day.
Since daffodils are my favorite flower I get them in arrangements many times and have never had a problem as long as I changed the water regularly. I don't know what "toxin" Patricia is talking about. Maybe it's toxic to eat, but then I'd never consider eating them. Don't know. But I do know they make beautiful arrangements especially if mixed with my other favorite, Shasta dailies, and baby's breath.
