Romeo is a 2 year old domestic mix kitty. He was born in my daughter's basement, while we were finishing it (a remodel). He loved noise and power tools. As soon as he was big enough to walk, he was under our feet. I would pick him up to take him back to his MOM and other kitties, he would come right back to the noise and action. I said ,'BOY, you rome all the time, I am gonna call you Romey, and it turned to Romeo.
We fell in love with each other, and ROMEO, came to live with me at 8 weeks old. Years later, he is still my sweet kitty. Strange for I love dogs mostly? I have a 5 year old Mountain Feist. Sienna and Romeo go everywhere together; go out to potty and hunt, back in to sleep the night.
I have an island work station in my kitchen. Romeo loves for me to bring a wooden bar stool to it. He immediately jumps up on it to watch. He never gets on the island or counters, just watches me. I keep the bar stools away from the kitchen until needed. So, needless to say, I tell company "if you are going to use the bar stools, get on it quick, or ROMEO beats you to it." he-ha
I have a sign on my front steps, that says "BEWARE OF THE DOG AND DON'T TRUST THE CAT!" Though my dog is a great guard dog and does not allow anything in the yard, Romeo runs other dogs off faster than the dog.

Loved your story! I too, have an all black cat named Smokey. He was born (to a stray) in the parking lot of my daughter's apartments (long story) & I was lucky enough to get him.
I have the same "problem" with my cat "stealing" my computer chair. If I get up from it for even one second Smokey's claims it! He'll come running across the room then "serf" the rolling chair across the room when he jumps on it in a hurry to beat me to it!
You know, it's strange that some people think cats don't have personalities!? But, I imagine it's because they've never owned a cat. Some cat's can be almost like a dog. In fact, Smokey loves to roll in the dirt in my driveway to "powder" himself. I've never seen a cat do this, but dogs do it all the time. I've had to cover the computer chair because Smokey is always a dust cloud when he enters our home. My partner says we should have named him "Pigpen" after the dirty little fellow in the Charlie Brown Comics!
Pets, they make us smile & keep us young! I'm so thrilled you posted your picture! Did you know that black cat's & dogs are the very last ones chosen at animal shelters & more of them have to be put down that other colors. They think it's because black cat's & dog's don't photograph as well as other colors. So, all you guys out there in ThriftyFun land, don't neglect the black cats, they are just as nice as a tabby, especially if you love to wear black like I do!
Thank you for sharing your lovely Romeo with us and the endearing story about Sienna and Romeo :) I love what your sign says!
You've got a gem of a cat there! We enjoyed your story about Romeo. Thanks for reminding people about black dogs and cats in shelters!
Grandma Jan & Kato the Wonder Dog (a black long-haired GSD)
That's a fun story to read about Romeo. I once owned the softest black haired cat ever and he got ran over during the winter months. We had wood piled up in the far back and someone while we were gone for a short period had entered onto the place using another's land and took the wood and in the process of leaving, ran over the cat who was nearby. He was so friendly and lovable. Just hated when that happened. They could have had the wood freely given too and our cat would have been alive. Tire tracks were left in the snow and showed where the cat had been and tracks led to the road and throug another's property.
