If the water is running into the machine but is just not filling, then the hose in the back to pump the water out is pushed to far into the pipe, see if you can pull it up a bit. This happened to me and I was flipping out.
Source: hours of searching the internet for a solution. Good luck.
Or you may have trash in your water filters going into the machine. Especially with well water. We have to clean them all the time for the same reason. Pull off each hose. There is a small filter in the end of each one. Take note of how it comes out. Clean with running water. Hope this helps you.

My washing machine only works on the spin cycle and there isn't any water entering the machine.

Have you tried calling the company of the make of the washing machine, often they offer help on what the problem is. (09/11/2009)

I know this sounds simple; but what happened to me was the hose (or tubing) that fills the machine (in the back) was pinched so no water could get in.

I agree the hose could be pinched, or someone might have shut off the water behind the washer. I hope that's all it is. Good luck. (09/17/2009)
