When you have a sluggish ketchup bottle, push a drinking straw to the bottom and then remove it. This will allow enough air to start the the ketchup flowing.

Good idea, also never hold ketchup upside down to get out. Always hold it sideways and gently tape side not bottom of the bottle. It lets air into the bottle. Kethcup is suppose to be slow it's worth the wait.
The drinking straw thing does work, but it's m-e-s-s-y! I just give the bottle a few good shakes before opening, with the last shake sending it toward the end you'll be opening.
