Giving a Dog Dramamine?

Is this "less drowsiness" Dramamine formula safe to administer to dogs? We usually give our Jack Russell Dramamine to keep him calm on the 4th of July when people are shooting fireworks, but I noticed on the label that they have "less drowsiness" now so I am worried that this new formula may be harmful to dogs.

Hi, Benadryl works good for calming purposes. The dosage is 1 milligram per pound twice daily.

I use to take the tablet & wrap it in a small piece of american cheese. My Pom had to have medication on a regular basis for asthma & thats how she would take it.

Even her benadryl was given the same way, she thought it as a treat.

We use Benedryl for our Sadie. She will either take one pill or two tsp of the liquid and she weighs 29lbs. With the fourth around the corner here, we will need to make sure we have a full bottle as she gets panicky almost with fear. Poor baby!

Personally I think this is a question for your vet in order to be on the safe side!

Why don't you ask your Veterinarian. Don't ever give your pet any medication without consulting a Vet. that would be irresponsible.
