Save the Peach Juice from Canned Peaches

Silver Post Medal for All Time! 255 Posts

Save your juice from canned peaches. Freeze it in ice cube trays then when solid move over to a ziplock bag and store in freezer. Use them in your glass instead of ice when drinking iced tea. Is good with any tea, but especially good with raspberry tea.

The juice from canned fruit including peaches is nothing more than high fructose corn syrup. No peach juice at all. You can make the same concoction with sugar and water.

Not if you buy the peaches that are packed in their own juices.
Sounds like a great idea mom from missouri
:)

Yum! I want to go out and buy peaches just so I can try this! I buy the Snapple peach ice tea all the time but hate the fact it has so many calories. This might be a good alternative. Thanks!

Juice from canned fruit can be loaded with high-fructose corn syrup which will cause weight gain. Canners and manufactures of soft drinks and other products started using high frutose corn syrup in their products because it is cheaper and 20 times sweeter.

Read the label on the can to see what is in the can. If it says high fructose corn syrup put it back on the shelf. Choose fruit canned in its own juices instead of heavy syrup.

Love this idea. My thoughts are if one doesn't want to use the heavy syrup canned peaches, then use the lite canned fruit to make the ice cubes. Most of the time, ice cubes don't entirely melt by the time the drink is done.
