Add Dehydrated Powdered Vegetables to Recipes

I dehydrate many of my home grown vegetables and then grind them and further reduce them to powder in my blender. Then I store the powder in the freezer and use it all winter long in several ways. They can be added to ground meat dishes, used in soups, stews, sauces and gravies, even added to breads and cookies. This is a great way to sneak more vegetables into your picky eaters.

Thank you very much for sharing this idea. It never occured to me and now I have a super new way to get veggies into me. *I* am the picky eater in my house, everyone else is trying to be vegan. What a good idea!

Thanks for this idea!! I may be able to get vegetables into my mother"s diet now; she has Alzheimer's Disease and will not touch vegetables. Just like a little child :-) I especially like the idea of adding them into homemade bread. Can't wait to try this out. Thanks again!

When you pack you dehydrated foods away, do you use any of those oxygen pads (they look like round tea bags) in your containers?

Great idea! Thank you very much for posting it. I currently buy a dehydrated veggie mix with many veggies in it, all finely chopped. It even has parsnips and greens in it, along with the usuals, like onions. I add it to all sorts of things, since I get it real cheap. One of my favorite uses is to add it to rice at the start of cooking.

It looks good, and tastes good too. I like your idea even better. I have started dehydrating veggies myself, and will have to give this a try when I have enough done. I think I will make a mix with some mild chilies in it for some heat, and one without.
