Substitute for Sherry Vinegar?

What can I substitute for sherry vinegar for making vinaigrette?

Red wine vinegar, balsamic vinegar or rice vinegar.

Really, you can substitute any vinegar for sherry vinegar, as the previous poster suggested. Apple cider vinegar works well, also. Sherry vinegar is not sold in most supermarkets, or even in specialty stores, so it's not readily available for most of us. I live in the S.F. Bay Area, a major foodie metropolis, and even here it's hard to find.

Trader Joe's used to carry it years ago, but that ended. There really is nothing special about sherry vinegar; it's just another vinegar. Consequently, a substitution will not adversely affect a recipe.
