Can someone tell what breed is my puppy?
Candie from Flushing, NY
I say chihuahua for sure, or a big part of a mix, I have raised 6 chihuahua pups, and that cutie looks like my pups, which are almost 5 years old.
That is definatly a chaweenie. I have a pic of a one. He looks exactly like yours. a chaweenie is a doberman (weenier dog) and a chihuahua mix. hope this helps
I believe this is called an apple head chihuahua. At least he looks like my mother's dog and she was told that's what he is.

I know that his mom is a chihuahua. He is 5 months old in this photo and weighs about 5 lbs. Unfortunately, his dad is a deadbeat dad, just took off without anyone seeing him.
Indefinitely see the Chihuahua. The other breeds Im not sure of. It is inexpensive to get a DNA test done to find out
I strongly think that you have a Chihuahua, but to be sure you would have to get a DNA. Here is info on this cute breed.

Maybe this is a Dobby Rat Terrier/Chihuahua mix www.pinterest.com/
DNA test could help to answer this question www.nytimes.com/
Well - he may have a deadbeat dad but it looks like he has good lines so I hope you will have a long happy life together.
There's not a lot anyone can tell about breeding at this early age but if you really want to know more about him, a DNA test is a good investment. The DNA test will tell not only tell you about his breeding but will provide information on what size he may be when fully grown and give you pointers on what to look for where health issues are involved. Life spans will also be provided.
DNA tests have increased in price but there are still some reasonable tests available.
Here is a good summary of tests that are available. The tests can be purchased online, in pet shops and vets.

Please be sure your lovely pup sees his vet and gets all of his essential first year's shots as his life could depend on these shots/vaccinations and when he has them administered.

I think he looks like a Corgi Chihuahua Mix, also known as Chihuahua Corgi Mix or Chigi or Corgi Chihuahua or Chigi Dog www.k9web.com/
I hope his DNA report turns out to be just what you were looking for but it will not matter as he has stolen your heart and will remain there no matter what the report says.
I like seeing the test results as it help with how large (or small) the pup will be and also if this breed could possibly have health problems that I should be aware of.
Fortunately, mixed breeds are usually the healthiest animals.
Enjoy your new best friend!
Just rescued and adopted and unsure of mixed breed type. Is it a chiweenie?
I am going to go with Chiwinnie. The face, body style and other characteristics. To be 100% you would need DNA to be sure.
The face looks like a chihuahua and the body looks like a dachshund. I would say yes, and the only way to know for sure is to have a DNA test done on the dog.
Yes, the puppy looks like Chiweenie. And he's very cute!
The Chiweenie is a mixed breed dog - a cross between the Chihuahua and Dachshund dog breeds. There are few standards when it comes to size. That said, as a mix between Chihuahua and Dachshund parents, you can expect Chiweenies to be on the small side. Most weigh in at five to twelve pounds and range in height from six to ten inches at the shoulder. That said, many can be smaller or larger.
The Chiweenie dog breed may have existed naturally over the years, but designer breeders started intentionally mixing Chihuahuas and Dachshunds in the late 1990s, likely in North America. Breeders wanted to mix the two parent breeds to minimize the back problems that tend to affect Dachshunds with their long bodies. They continued to create Chiweenies as demand for the mixed breed pups climbed. Even though the Chiweenie breed got its start as a designer breed, some have ended up in shelters or in the care of rescue groups.
