Valentine's Day Issue
With Valentines Day approaching, I thought I would pass along a cute idea. A few years ago a friend came home on Valentines Day to find that her husband had apparently forgotten and had done nothing to observe the special day. It wasn't until she went to take a shower that she discovered a plastic bag full of Hershey kisses hanging from the shower head, with a note attached that said "On Valentines Day and every day, I will shower you with kisses!"

Flower Seeds For Valentine's Day
Instead of paper valentines, buy some flower seeds at the dollar store (usually 6-10/$1) and give them to your friends with a note that says something like - "MY LOVE FOR YOU GROWS AND GROWS!"

A cute valentine dessert is to make Krispy Rice Kisses. Make the cereal and marshmallow treats as usual but form them in a funnel to shape them like candy kisses. Wrap in foil and add a love message. This is great idea for class parties.

When my kids were little I'd buy mix the Nestle's Quik Strawberry mix into the milk for their cereal then put it in a little pitcher. It would make the milk a nice pink color and be a nice surprise for Valentine's Day morning.

25 Ways That I Love You For Valentine's Day
Here is a great way to tell your loved one why you love them.
On your computer write sentences like "I love how you love me", "I love your eyes", "I love how you play with the kids". You get the idea. Put double spacing in between each sentence. Cut strips apart and fold to go into a small jar or peanut can that you have decorated. Layer the folded sentences with wrapped candies like kisses. My husband said this is the best gift he has ever received and he had reread them all year long.

Saying 'I Love You' for Less
By Gary Foreman
This is for the frugal romantic. Last Valentine's Day I had $8. I went to the local grocery store and bought gladiolas (the cheapest flowers I could find - but very beautiful). I cut red tissue paper into hearts to look like rose petals. I also bought strawberries and grapes. I got out all the photos of the two of us and taped them to the wall in a trail leading to the bathroom. The bathroom walls were filled completely with more pictures. There was also a bath drawn waiting for his homecoming and fruit to feed him. It went over very well!

Homemade Hearts for Valentine's Day
By Michelle Jones
Homemade gifts are gifts from the heart, and these special Valentine's Day Hearts are sure to be a big hit. Everyone loves to get a beautiful card on Valentine's Day, but one that's homemade can be even more appreciated by the receiver, and certainly more fun for the giver. One year I made a huge list of all the things I love about my husband, and made it into a simple card, he loved it. The kids can make cards for everyone, including their grandparents, teachers, neighbors and friends. It doesn't have to be expensive, just from the heart!
