Who, in our Government, can help us pay a $1400.00 emergency dental bill when you don't qualify for welfare and you aren't on disability? I only get 2 days a week of work. Please any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I had the same situation a few years ago. I called the billing office, they advised me to apply for welfare. If I didn't qualify, which I didn't, I was to send the rejection letter along with the bill. The hospital was able to write off my bill. Hope this helps.
Try talking to the dental office about reducing your bill or working out a payment plan. Show them your monthly budget and tell them you appreciate their service but you can only pay X amount each month.
You can contact your local welfare office and see if discretionary benifits will cover it. Usually though they want you to get the aprroval first but they may help you cover some. Many Catholic churches have something called Daily Bread programs to help cover costs and also try the Salavation Army as they have different programs.
