I am redecorating the living and dining rooms. The carpet in both rooms is called amber; but it is rust or copper penny in color. What wall and drapery colors will coordinate with this carpet?
There is a great deal of natural red oak wood trimming in both rooms. On one wall in the room, there is a built in fire place flanked by two small case leaded windows on either side; but it is not wood-burning so it is not bricked. There are a few bricks in a taupe color; and the rest is basically plaster that is painted the same color as the existing wall color.

You could paint the walls a light neutral color such as pale beige or ivory. I would do chocolate brown draperies and the toss small amounts of color around in accessories; pillows, vases, etc in red, yellow and turquoise. We used to have an amber glow car so I know exactly the color of your carpet.
A soft peach would be pretty for the walls, and you could accent with barn red/pale yellow. Beige or soft white is always good and brings in light as well.
There is nothing prettier than navy, dark mustard and brick red accents on the walls, I had this in a wallpaper. It looked like the goldish mustard had been sponged on all over, and then there was a print on top of this that looked stencilled with the navy and brick.
