I do not use the pecans in this recipe when I make it.
In mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese and sugar until fluffy. Halve 9 cherries, chop the rest. Set aside halved cherries and 18 orange segments for garnish. Add pineapple, pecans, and chopped cherries to cream cheese mixture. Fold in whipped topping and remaining oranges. Line muffin cups with paper or foil liners. Spoon fruit mixture into cups. Garnish with reserved cherries and oranges. Freeze until firm. Remove from freezer ten minutes before serving.

We have made this recipe for years and it is so pretty and tastes wonderful. This summer I decided to try to change it a bit and instead of putting it in the muffin papers, put it in a graham cracker pie crust and it was a big hit.
