Where Do You Let Your Dough Rise?Where do others put their sour dough starter to rise when the house gets cold at night? On top of the water heater is where I used to put it but, the new water heater feels cool on top. It is in a small pantry and may be warm enough but our house is allowed to cool to 65 at night. Crust on Homemade Bread is Hard?I have tried to bake my own bread. I use a bread maker to mix the dough. It rises once in the machine. Then I take it out, knead it and let it rise again. Last time, I cracked the oven door and sat the rising bread on the stove top with a big towel over it and it did its rising very well.
